Handmade soaps are made by combining oils and sodium hydroxide. The resulting chemical reaction from combining these ingredients is called saponification, and produces soap. It is then cured for weeks, allowing the soap to harden and dry.  Handmade soap could be used sooner, but soap is at its best after the curing period has finished. Because we sell our soaps only when the curing period is completed, we encourage you to use your soap, and not store it away. Please remember that you can maximize the life of your soap by letting it dry in between washes and keeping it away from moisture when not in use.

 

Here at Blue Bay Botanical, we must confess that we are quite proud of our soaps.  A well-formulated soap will lather, cleanse, and moisturize your skin without drying or irritation. All our soaps are formulated to excel in all criteria, which is why choose our ingredients based on quality, not cost.   We include luxurious butters and specialty oils in our soaps so your skin will be clean, healthy, soft, and radiant. Also, many of our soaps have specialty ingredients so you can choose a soap that is perfect for you. Our artisanal soaps are all handmade, and therefore none are exactly alike.
